Introduction to AI and Machine Learning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that enables machines to simulate human intelligence. Machine Learning (ML) is a subset of AI that allows machines to learn from data and improve over time.

Types of AI

Narrow AI: AI designed for specific tasks (e.g., virtual assistants, chatbots).

General AI: AI with human-like reasoning (not yet achieved).

Super AI: AI surpassing human intelligence (a future concept).

Machine Learning Methods

Supervised Learning: Uses labeled data (e.g., fraud detection).

Unsupervised Learning: Identifies patterns in unlabeled data (e.g., customer segmentation).

Reinforcement Learning: Learns through rewards (e.g., AI in robotics).

Applications of AI

AI is used in various industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, and transportation.

  • Healthcare: AI-powered diagnostics and robotic surgeries.
  • Finance: Fraud detection and algorithmic trading.
  • Retail: Personalized recommendations and chatbots.
  • Transportation: Self-driving cars and traffic optimization.
